Hablemos de FIBROMIALGIA<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

La palabra fibromialgia viene de unir la palabra latina fibra, que significa \u2018fibra\u2019 o \u2018fibroso\u2019, con las griegas mys y algos, que significan \u2018m\u00fasculo\u2019 y \u2018dolor\u2019, respectivamente.<\/span><\/p>\n

Es una enfermedad que plantea una problem\u00e1tica muy dif\u00edcil de resolver por la medicina: no se conoce con exactitud la causa, no se puede confirmar con an\u00e1lisis de laboratorio y no se sabe curar; de aqu\u00ed que la considere una enfermedad cr\u00f3nica. Se diagnostica cuando hay dolor en los dos lados del cuerpo, por encima y por debajo de la cintura y cuando, como m\u00ednimo, once de los dieciocho puntos sensibles de nuestro cuerpo presentan dolor.<\/p>\n

Al inicio de la investigaci\u00f3n de la fibromialgia, hacia 1985, su nombre era fibrositis, que significa \u2018inflamaci\u00f3n de los m\u00fasculos\u2019. Un nombre no correcto, porque en la fibromialgia no hay inflamaci\u00f3n, sino contracci\u00f3n muscular. Es la enfermedad reum\u00e1tica que tiene m\u00e1s afectados; un 30% del total en Occidente.<\/p>\n

S\u00cdNTOMAS<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Dolor muscular, tendones, ligamentos, articulaciones\u2026 – Insomnio \u2013 Dolor de cabeza – S\u00edndrome del colon y la vejiga irritables – Menstruaci\u00f3n dolorosa – Mala circulaci\u00f3n de las extremidades – S\u00edndrome de piernas inquietas – Dolor en la articulaci\u00f3n temporomaxilar – Dificultades cognitivas – Depresi\u00f3n – Ansiedad – Falta de fuerza muscular – Sequedad de ojos y boca – Sensibilidad qu\u00edmica al medio ambiente…<\/span><\/p>\n

La FIBROMIALGIA en cifras<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Reumatolog\u00eda, la fibromialgia:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 afecta, en Espa\u00f1a, a entre un 2,5 y un 4% de la poblaci\u00f3n; es decir, a m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de personas.<\/p>\n

\u2022 el 90% de los que la sufren son mujeres y la mayor parte de los afectados tiene entre 25 y 50 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

\u2022 las cantidades ser\u00edan mayores si tenemos en cuenta que solo el 50% de los afectados se diagnostican. La otra mitad reciben diagn\u00f3sticos distintos al de fibromialgia.<\/p>\n

\u2022 el tiempo medio que se tarda en recibir el diagn\u00f3stico desde los primeros s\u00edntomas oscila entre los 9 y los 14 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

\u2022 esta enfermedad supone entre el 12 y el 20% de las consultas de Reumatolog\u00eda.<\/p>\n

\u2022 despu\u00e9s de 10 a\u00f1os de evoluci\u00f3n de la enfermedad, la intensidad del dolor aumenta en un 55%, la fatiga en un 48% y los trastornos del sue\u00f1o en un 59%.<\/p>\n

DEFINICION DE FIBROMIALGIA DESDE UNA NUEVA PERSPECTIVA<\/strong><\/p>\n

La fibromialgia y s.f.c. son las enfermedades de las emociones no expresadas. Son fruto de un conflicto interno generado por nosotros mismos, es decir, todas las emociones que no somos capaces de llevar a la acci\u00f3n u opini\u00f3n, se quedan en nuestro cuerpo f\u00edsico en forma de tensiones, que se traducen en una gran variedad de s\u00edntomas.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s talk about FIBROMYALGIA<\/b><\/p>\n

The origin of the word \u201cfibromyalgia\u201d is the combination of the Latin word \u201cfibra\u201d, which means \u201cfibre\u00bb or \u201cfibrous\u201d, and the Greek words \u201cmys\u201d and \u201calgos\u201d, which mean \u201cmuscle\u201d and \u201cpain\u201d respectively.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a disease that presents problems very difficult to be solved by medicine. Its cause remains unknown, it cannot be detected by means of a lab test and nobody knows how to cure it, that\u2019s why it\u2019s considered a chronic disease. Fibromyalgia is diagnosed when there is pain on both sides of the body, above and below the waist, and when the person experiences tenderness or pain in at least eleven of the eighteen specified tender points.<\/p>\n

In about 1985, when research on fibromyalgia began, the name of the disease was \u201cfibrositis\u201d, which means \u2018inflammation of the muscles\u2019. But this is an incorrect name, because in fibromyalgia there is muscle contraction rather than inflammation. It\u2019s the rheumatic disease which affects more people; a total of 30% of Western people.<\/p>\n

SYMPTOMS<\/b><\/p>\n

Pain in muscles, tendons, ligaments, articulations – Insomnia – Headaches – Irritable bowel and bladder syndrome – Painful menstrual periods- Bad circulation in extremities – Restless leg syndrome- Pain in the temporomaxilar articulation – Cognitive problems – Depression- Anxiety – Lack of muscular strength – Dry mouth and eyes – Chemical sensitivity to the environment…<\/p>\n

Figures on FIBROMYALGIA<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Spanish Society for Rheumatology, fibromyalgia:<\/p>\n

\u2022 affects 2,5 to 4% of Spanish population; i.e. more than a million people.<\/p>\n

\u2022 90% of patients with fibromyalgia are women and most affected people are between 25 and 50 years old.<\/p>\n

\u2022 figures could be higher if we consider that only 50% are diagnosed. The other 50% are not diagnosed with fibromyalgia.<\/p>\n

\u2022 the average elapsed time between the first symptoms and the diagnosis is of 9 to 14 years.<\/p>\n

\u2022 the disease comprises between 12 and 20% of rheumatology consultations.<\/p>\n

\u2022 after 10 years of sickness evolution, there has been an increment in the intensity of pain (55%), in fatigue (48%) and in sleep disorders (59%).<\/p>\n

DEFINITION OF FIBROMYALGIA FROM AN ALL-NEW PERSPECTIVE<\/b><\/p>\n

Fibromyalgia and CFS. are disorders related to unexpressed emotions. They are the result of an inner conflict that we ourselves generate, that means that all the emotions we are not capable of showing remain in our physical body as tensions, which appear as a huge variety of symptoms.
